CPR Repairs and Protects Ballast Manifold Valves

CUSTOMER: Ontario based shipping company.

APPLICATION DATE: August 2005

PROBLEM: Ballast Manifold Valves damaged by sever cavitation.

SUBSTRATE: Cast Iron

APPLICATION METHOD: Valves were removed from the ship, the steel was blasted to a Nace 1 finish followed by an paste grade material application and immediately followed by our cavitation resistant material.

 

PHOTOGRAPHS

Sharp edges were ground to 45 degrees and the valves were blasted to a Nace 1 or SSPC-SP5 with a 3-4 mil profile.

Paste grade material applied over the newly welded and then blasted areas.

Cavitation resistant materials being applied to the complete interior of the valves and allowed to cure to specifications.
