Downtime Minimized With CPR In Place Bearing Housing Rebuild
CUSTOMER: A steel mill in Hamilton, Ontario
APPLICATION DATE: December 1996
PROBLEM: Oversized bearing housings on feed rolls of 54″ mill. Wear up to in spots. Housing were part of mill frame.
SUBSTRATE: Steel
APPLICATION METHOD: Housing was abrasive blasted. In place rebuilding using CPR Material was carried out according to proven techniques developed by the customer supported by the local CPR technical consultant.
CPR FACTS: The mill could not afford to take an extended down to carry out a conventional repair (in place weld and remachining) of this component. When inspected two years later, CPR repair was in PERFECT condition.
