CPR Helps Flat Backs Last Longer

CUSTOMER: Coal Fired Generating Station in Ontario


PROBLEM: Pulverized coal fuel erodes “flat back” components to premature failure.

SUBSTRATE: Carbon Steel

APPLICATION METHOD: Units blasted to SSPC-SP10 with a 3-4 mil profile. Template used to control thickness on base and free handed on 4″ pipes. Applied at 3/8″ thickness.

CPR FACTS: CPR Materials are used as a sacrificial product to give some longer
life to these flat backs



Freshly blasted flat back being degreased with MEK,

Template in place with release agent to control application thickness.

CPR being applied to 40 flat backs.

Finishing touches complete the job.
