CPR Coating on Hydrogen Coolers in Nuclear GS Since 1988

APPLICATION DATE: 1988

PROBLEM: Corrosion of tubesheets and end covers on hydrogen coolers of generators

SUBSTRATE: Steel

APPLICATION METHOD: After surface preparation CPR Material was applied to end covers and tubesheet.

CPR FACTS: All four units at this station have had their coolers coated with CPR.

Inspection photos taken in 2004. CPR Material is in perfect condition under the mild layer of mineral scaling from lake cooling water. Scaling is easily removed by gentle wiping action.
